A slow bus is the more forgiving one for a scan; raise it only if a device needs it.
Debug
A scan writes nothing: each address gets a one-byte read, and an address that does not acknowledge is reported as empty. Identification then reads a register or two that the Melexis libraries themselves use to recognise a part, and the reasoning is shown beside every result so a wrong guess is visible rather than silent.
